Anthony's Final Concert

Anthony is normally the student director for the Tiger Tunes choir at his school.  For the final concert he was asked by his teacher, Mr. Hilder, to actually accompany one of their numbers on the piano.
Anthony was nervous and excited, and Mr. Hilder was thrilled to actually do the directing since he usually plays the piano for every concert.

Clayton was able to make it there, and film him, although most of what you'll see is the page-turner's head blocking his.  oh well.  You can hear him play!  We're so proud of him and everything he's done this year.

A (slightly vulgar) Mother's Day Tribute by Nat

It all started with conception
And Dad had to help too;
when two cute gametes made a connection,
and you thought you had the flu.

But it was ME who made you sick
And fat, and tired, and grumpy.
Then nine months later, I shot out
And you got much less lumpy.

Thank you, Mom, for all you've done,
For putting up with me.
Now a parent myself, I've learned how it feels
To ALWAYS have to pee!

They say childbirth is like taking your lip
and stretching it over your head.
Funny how this miracle starts AND ends
Spread eagle in a bed!

Pubic Lice Song; The Sound of Vanereal Disease

Pubic Lice
(to the tune of Edelweiss; Sound of Music)
(NOT biographical!)

Pubic Lice,
Pubic Lice,
Every morning you wake me.

Small and white,
And you bite.
Don't wanna scratch, but you make me.

Mean little nits, how you burn and itch,
Burn and itch my nethers.

Pubic Lice,
Pubic Lice.
Do STDs last forever?

The Best Kind of Beautiful -A song I wrote and recorded in 08 for my amazing Mom

“Best Kind of Beautiful” (PRESS "PLAY" ABOVE FOR AUDIO)

Written by Natalie Lofthouse
© 2008 for Terri Fausett

She… She sees the world for all that it can be
Unlike Me
And She… She sacrifices so unselfishly
Despite her needs
She’s the best kind of Beautiful

◊◊◊◊◊◊

He… He wanted her to feel like she was everything
He made her sing
And He… He would’ve given anything to make her see
He loved her mightily
And found her infinitely Beautiful

CHORUS I

Beautiful in body
Beautiful in heart
Beautiful though time may someday
Wrestle them apart
Beautiful, oh, through it all
Nothing the years could take away
Radiant in every single way
She is the best kind of Beautiful

◊◊◊◊◊◊

I… I’ve listened in the night and heard her cry
Though time’s gone by
Since He… was taken from her, oh so suddenly
Yet in our memory
He’s the best kind of Beautiful

CHORUS II

Beautiful in spirit
Beautiful in soul
Beautiful in showing us all
Life’s a miracle
Beautiful, oh, through it all
Then letting go when it was time
And though there’s no way to make that clock rewind
He is the best kind of Beautiful
PAGE II

She… She makes me see the possibilities
Inspires me
And She… Becomes my air when I can’t seem to breathe
Teaches me to believe
We’re all the best kind of Beautiful

CHORUS III

Beautiful in joy and sadness
Beautiful inside
Beautiful in realizing
That we’ve nothing to hide
Beautiful, oh, through it all
Whatever hurt my come along
Our broken lives can still become a song
Become the best kind of Beautiful…

… She is the Best Kind of Beautiful

Nat's Cranky Christmas Song

(Tune of Christmas Time)
♫Halloween is here
But weather is severe
And store décor
Suggests the Christmas chore's
two months earlier this year.♫

♫Presents and Price tags,
This is such a drag.
Ornaments and Festive M&Ms
in my trick-or-treating Bag! ♫ (wish I were kidding)

♫Charity bells in the air,
Fruitcakes everywhere. (not just the edible kind)
Except for Tryptophan,
and football fans,
It’s like November’s barely there.♫

♫Black Friday causes Brawls.
Santa’s at the Mall.
It may be snide to deck him in the side
But it’s not time Deck the Halls!♫
♫Dumb sweaters, all this fuss.
It’s so ridiculous!
Up at three to get a cheap flat screen;
You fight and scream and cuss.♫

♫But let me make this clear;
when Christmas time IS near,
I’ll sing those festive tunes
and watch the Grinch cartoons
And stop popping lawn Reindeer!♫ (yes, that was me)

Merry whatever holiday it actually is, ya crazies!

You Know What I Hate?! Shower injuries!

Know what I hate?

When you get in the shower in the morning, commence washing (beginning with the armpits) and the soap is FREEZING COLD!

So you drop the bar of evil slippery frigidness on your toe. Due to limited get-ready time, you didn't plan to get your hair wet. So you try to slide the soap up to the rim of the tub with your foot; and by so doing, you slip on the snail-like moisture trail. After some frantic flailing to catch your balance, you still eat it. (Not the soap, the slang phrase for a violent fall.) You end up smacking your tail bone on the rim of the tub and knocking all the (also cold) shampoo bottles onto your lap and trying your damndest not to pull the shower curtain and rod on top of your contorted body!

The only thing worse than injuring yourself in such a pathetic manner is doing so naked!  I think I just might be willing to spend the extra 7 bucks on pit-shaving cream and body wash in the future.

Halloween

Kader and I took a weekend trip to Logan just before Halloween.
These are the awesome Maple Leaves that piled up in my sibblings' place.
He Loved playing in them!

This is a "Where the Wild Things Are" head putter inner thing
that was on the Pumpkin walk

Halloween at the Trunk or Treat. These things are highly overrated
so we ended up doing some door to door candy solicitation.
Anthony was much more interested in all the 'Puckins on fire'
(jack-o-lanterns) than he was in the candy.
He kept turning it down! (I took it though)

My cute little garden gnome :)
I was looking for a costume that would be easy to make.
Super proud of this one.. No Travelocity jokes!
(It did take 30 minutes and much candy bribery to get him to wear that stupid beard!)
I still can't get him to hold still and pose in the Garden though.
